I joined CITRIS Health Care during Sept. 2012 as an R&D Manager while I wrapped up my research on Piezoeletric Fan Cooling. At CITRIS Health, I am helping building stronger multi-campus and interdisciplinary research collaborations while helping researchers bring new sources of funding to the institute. However, I have found myself ingrained into various aspects of CITRIS operations, research, marketing and branding. Below is a brief description of CITRIS Health:
The Health Care Initiative at the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) is one its 4 core content areas. The mission of this initiative is to both improve access and reduce significant disparities in health resources and outcomes across different regions and population groups in California. This initiative was instrumental in creating a statewide, trusted ‘medical grade’ network that will enable providers in more remote parts of California to access the providers and resources found in the major population centers. The California Telehealth Network (CTN), developed by researchers at UC Davis, is the core platform to link some 863 hospitals, clinics and public health providers across the state. The CITRIS program is supporting the development of cutting-edge new applications and services to expand CTN’s capacity and improve its performance over time.
The primary research themes of the CITRIS Health Care Initiative are focused on:
